New Cardinia Shire councillor sworn in; Orange City councillor resigns

In Councillor news this week:

Cardinia Shire Council’s new councillor, Kaye Cameron, has been sworn into office this week, following an extraordinary election to fill a vacancy in that council’s WesternPort Ward brought about the passing of former councillor Ray Brown.

Cr Cameron follows in the footsteps of her great, great grandfather, J P Angus Cameron, a long term councillor for the former Shire of Cranbourne. More details here

And Orange City Council this week received the resignation of one of its councillors, Cr Joanne McRae. Cr McRae was elected in 2017 and served as deputy mayor during her term.

While council elections are deferred until 4th December, there will not be a need to conduct a by-election, and the position will remain vacant until the new Council is elected. More details here
