A community council in Wales has lost nearly ten percent of its annual budget to a scammer.
Harlech Community Council was tricked into advancing £9k to a man posing as a consultant, and only became aware of the con when alerted by its bank.
The BBC reported that the matter was detailed in council meeting minutes.
The council says the matter has been dealt with and there would not be any further comment.
