City of Adelaide CEO Clare Mockler has resigned from her position and will finish at the end of business today, 13th December.
Lord Mayor Jane Lomax-Smith said Ms Mockler was leaving for family reasons, and was heading to the UK to support her elderly mother.
Ms Mockler has been with the city for over 20 years, including the past two and a half years as CEO.
Chief Operating Officer Michael Sedgman will be Acting CEO from this evening, with a comprehensive national search for a new CEO expected to commence in the new year.
