News

Townsville City Council has announced the resignation of CEO Dr Prins Ralston, effective from Friday 10th May.

Dr Ralston follows that of the CEOs of Maranoa, Bundaberg and Brisbane since the recent local government elections.

The following statement was released this afternoon:

Dr Ralston thanked Council’s team of more than 1800 people for their support and dedication over the past four years.

“It’s been a privilegeleading a team of dedicated, professional and conscientious people, who go above and beyond for the community every day,” Dr Ralston said.

During Dr Ralston’s four years at Council, Townsville has seen upward growth in extraordinary circumstances, and the city is well positioned to continue taking advantage of this strong momentum.

Dr Ralston’s leadership has been instrumental in delivering Council’s vision and service excellence to the Townsville region and Queensland.

“Dr Ralston has led the Townsville local government since 2020 and I thank him for serving the Townsville community with great professionalism and dedication,” Mayor Troy Thompson said.
