Victorian Minister for Agriculture Gayle Tierney has been in Greater Shepparton this week, inspecting hail damage from the December storm at Tatura.
Mayor Shane Sali hosted Minister Tierney and senior representatives from Agriculture Victoria to discuss the impact of the storm and damage from last year’s floods on the local agricultural industry.
Cr Sali said fruit growers in the Tatura area are facing restricted supply due to the hail storm, while the floods highlighted access issues that arose when the causeway was closed, effectively cutting Greater Shepparton in half.
