Joe Gianriddo has won a computer countback conducted this morning to fill a vacancy on Stonnington City Council in East Ward.
The vacancy arose due to the resignation of Alexander Lew in December.
Nine unsuccessful candidates from the 2020 election contested the countback. One candidate who is no longer eligible for election was excluded from the procedure.
Cr-elect Gianfriddo will have 48 hours to return a declaration of qualification before can be sworn in to the position.
