Tosh-Jake Finnigan has won a computer countback conducted this morning to fill a vacancy on Colac Otway Shire Council.
The vacancy arose due to the resignation of Joe McCracken, who was elected to the Victorian Parliament in December.
Six unsuccessful candidates from the 2020 election contested the countback. One remaining candidate is no longer eligible to be elected and was excluded from the procedure.
Cr-elect Finnigan will have 48 hours to return a declaration of qualification before they can be sworn in to the position.
