Michael Glynatsis has won a computer countback conducted this morning to fill a vacancy on Yarra City Council in Langridge Ward.
The vacancy arose due to the resignation of Gabrielle de Vietri, who was elected to the Victorian Parliament in December.
Seven unsuccessful candidates from the 2020 election contested the countback. One unsuccessful candidate has passed away since that election and was excluded from the procedure.
Cr-elect Glynatsis will have 48 hours to return a declaration of qualification before he can be sworn in to the position.
