Golden Plains Shire Council has appointed Adam McSwain as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Adam, who currently serves as Director Infrastructure and Assets at Hume City Council, will begin his new role on August 25th.
He has previously served as Chief Executive Officer at Edwards River Council in New South Wales and held director-level positions at Bayside City Council and Swan Hill Rural City Council.
Golden Plains Shire councillors unanimously supported the appointment, expressing enthusiasm about working collaboratively with McSwain. Mayor Owen Sharkey highlighted McSwain’s leadership experience and focus on financial sustainability and organizational performance.
McSwain, who holds a Master of Business Administration and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has expressed excitement about supporting the local community in this regional council role.
Interim CEO Steve Sagona will continue in his position until McSwain’s arrival to ensure a smooth transition.
