The election of Elise Wilkinson to Greater Geelong City Council has been confirmed, with the VEC declaring the result of a countback this afternoon.
Ms Wilkinson replaces Stephanie Asher, after the former mayor resigned last month prior to relocating out of the municipality.
It is the third countback to fill an extraordinary vacancy on Greater Geelong City Council during the current term, after the earlier resignations of Kylie Gryzbek and Sarah Mansfield.
