Warrnambool City Council has kicked off mayoral election season, and elevated Cr Ben Blain to the mayoralty.
Cr Blain was elected unopposed last night, and at 34 years of age is believed to be the youngest mayor of the city to date.
Former mayor Vicki Jellie elected as deputy mayor.
