Townsville City Council Mayor Troy Thompson has not attended a council meeting this morning, at which a no-confidence motion is expected from councillors.
The Townsville Bulletin is running a live blog from the meeting, and reports that the livestream has crashed under the weight of heavy traffic.
Mr Thompson has reportedly lodged a request for a leave of absence until an investigation by the Crime and Corruption Commission is completed.
