CEO-level appointments and announcements have recently been made at councils in Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Sunshine Coast Council has appointed Debra Robinson as its interim CEO.
Ms Robinson has previously served as the Council’s Group Executive for Customer and Planning Services and as Director Major Projects and Strategic Property, and says that she will not be applying for the permanent role.
Central Highlands Council has accepted the resignation of its acting CEO Ross Higgins, who will leave the organisation on the 28th June.
The council has delegated to the mayor and deputy mayor to seek candidates for a replacement acting CEO, and a special meeting will be called when it is ready to make an appointment.
Barkly Regional Council in the Northern Territory has appointed Chris Kelly as its new CEO, effective from July 1.
Mr Kelly has previous experience at West Arnhem Regional Council as its Chief Operations Officer, and was recently CEO of Tropical Vets.
Jeff MacLeod will continue as Acting CEO until Mr Kelly’s arrival.
