New LG Minister in Victoria

Box Hill MP Paul Hamer, one of four new faces in cabinet, has been assigned the portfolio, along with youth justice, and corrections.

Nick Staikos has held the local government portfolio since December 2024, when he succeeded Melissa Horne. His term of 1 year and 117 days in the position is the shortest since Marlene Kairouz held the role in 2017-18.

Mr Staikos takes on housing and building, and Suburban Rail Loop in the reshuffle.
