Indigo Shire Council‘s chief executive officer, Trevor Ierino, has tendered his resignation after almost nine years in the role, with his departure effective next February. He was reappointed for a four year extension in September 2022
Announcing the decision, Mr Ierino said he had reached a point in his career where it felt right to step back from full-time executive leadership, while continuing to contribute to the sector in some capacity. He said he was “looking forward to a different chapter, one that provides greater flexibility.”
Mayor Cr Sophie Price acknowledged Mr Ierino’s contribution, saying council had accepted his resignation with a heavy heart and thanking him for his dedication and integrity over almost nine years in the role.
Mr Ierino said he intended to ensure an orderly transition over the coming months and would continue leading the organisation until his departure.
Council has not yet announced interim arrangements or a recruitment timeline for a permanent replacement.
