Cr Crowther steps up from the position of deputy mayor, following Cr Stefan Koomen’s decision to resign the mayoralty to focus on his campaign for election to State Parliament.

Cr Crowther will serve out the current mayoral term, which expires in mid-November.

Her election as mayor created a vacancy in the deputy mayoralty. That was immediately filled, with the Council electing Cr Anthony Walter to the position.

Both elections were unanimous decisions of the Council.
