City of Busselton appoints Annie Riordan as new CEO

The City of Busselton has announced the appointment of Ms Annie Riordan as its new Chief Executive Officer, with Ms Riordan set to commence in the role on 24 August 2026.

In a statement, the City said Ms Riordan brings “extensive experience in local government leadership,” having served as Chief Executive Officer of the Shire of Harvey for the past eight years. Prior to that, she held executive roles with the Shire of Augusta Margaret River for eight years and has also worked in senior local government positions in South Australia.

Ms Riordan has also contributed to the broader local government sector, including a term as President of Local Government Professionals WA, and she currently serves as a board member.

Mayor Phill Cronin said Ms Riordan was selected following “an intensive and comprehensive recruitment process,” describing her as well placed to lead the City through a period of growth and development.

“Ms Riordan’s strong knowledge of the South West community and industry places her in a unique position to quickly transition into the CEO role at the City of Busselton,” Mayor Cronin said.
