Chris White appointed new CEO of City of Victor Harbor

Chris White has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the City of Victor Harbor.

Mr White is currently CEO of the City of Prospect, a position he has held since 2021, and brings more than 20 years of local government experience. He holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Bachelor of Laws, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and a Master of Urban Planning.

The recruitment process was overseen by the CEO Selection Panel and Council, with support from executive search firm Morton Phillips.

Mayor Cr Moira Jenkins said Mr White’s appointment would support Council’s focus on strong leadership and sound governance, describing him as a highly respected local government professional with sound judgement and a clear understanding of the challenges facing the growing City.

Mr White, a Fleurieu Peninsula resident for the past six years, said he was honoured to take on the role and looked forward to working with Council members, staff and the community. He also acknowledged outgoing CEO Victoria MacKirdy’s contribution to the organisation.

Mr White will commence at the City of Victor Harbor on 19 October 2026.
