A NZ Council has admitted to sending nearly five tonnes of recycled material to landfill.
Queenstown Lakes District Council said waste management staff shortages and market challenges were responsible for the “disappointing outcome”.
The council has introduced measures to increase storage of material and exploring alternative processing facilities as part of attempts to find a resolution to the problem.
