Ben Ladson has won a computer countback conducted this morning to fill a vacancy on Greater Shepparton City Council.
The vacancy arose due to the resignation of Kim O’Keeffe, who was elected to the Victorian Parliament in November.
Five unsuccessful candidates from the 2020 election contested the countback. Two other candidates from that election are no longer eligible for election and were excluded from the countback.
Cr-elect Ladson will have 48 hours to return a declaration of qualification before he can be sworn in to the position.
