*A special meeting of Adelaide City Council to address a court ruling which found illegal practices had occurred during their 2022 Central Ward election, did not go ahead this week when only five of the required seven councillors attending.

The ruling, which determined that Councillor Jing Li’s victory over Alexander Hyde by 24 votes was influenced by illegal ballot handling practices, will be addressed again in court on April 4. Adelaide Advertiser

*Baw Baw Shire: A former Yarragon Primary School site is being transformed into a $1.77 million park named after long-serving local teacher Angela Malacarne, with completion expected by late 2025.

*Greater Shepparton City Council has awarded a $21.3 million contract to BMD Constructions Pty Ltd for GV Link Stage 1, a strategic enterprise park development south of Mooroopna that will include a four-lot subdivision and infrastructure upgrades, aimed at attracting major commercial investment and generating long-term employment in the region.

*Shoalhaven and Uralla Councils are collaborating on affordable housing initiatives, with Shoalhaven sharing expertise from its 39-unit Bomaderry development to help Uralla explore similar opportunities in New England.

Northern Beaches Council has conducted a successful building site blitz as part of the ‘Get the Site Right’ campaign, finding 67% of sites compliant with erosion and sediment control requirements, marking a 10% improvement from the previous inspection.

*Cairns is set to host Olympic basketball, football and cricket events during the 2032 Games, with major venue upgrades planned including a 5,000-seat grandstand at Barlow Park.
