In Tasmania, Central Coast Council has appointed an experienced local government executive as its new General Manager.
Barry Omundson, most recently the CEO of Walcha Council in NSW, has also served in senior roles at Whitsunday and Mackay councils in Queensland; and as CEO of the Fiji Water Authority.
Mr Omundson previously worked at Central Coast in a director role and will commence a four year term as GM from July.
He succeeds Sandra Ayton, who stepped down earlier this year after 15 years in the position, and more than 40 years in the council organisation.
