Lockyer Valley Regional Council has officially announced the appointment of Scott Greensill as its new Chief Executive Officer, following a Special Meeting of Council held this morning.

Mr. Greensill, who has been serving as the Council’s Interim CEO since December 2025 following the retirement of Ian Church, was selected from a highly competitive field of 71 applicants.
With over 40 years of experience in local government, Mr. Greensill brings a deep well of expertise to the permanent role. He holds a Bachelor of Business and an MBA, qualifications that Mayor Tanya Milligan noted would be vital in maintaining the region’s financial stability and governance.
“We went into this looking for a highly experienced local government CEO who would provide the sort of stability and leadership our Council is accustomed to, and Scott ticked all those boxes,” Mayor Milligan said.
The appointment is set for a four-year term, effective immediately. As part of his commitment to the role and the community, Mr. Greensill will be moving to the Lockyer Valley permanently.
“Scott has been residing temporarily in the Lockyer Valley while under the Interim CEO arrangements and will move here permanently, which is something we both strongly agreed was necessary to do the job well,” the Mayor added.
The high volume of interest in the position—71 applications in total—was described by the Mayor as a testament to the “exciting opportunities our thriving region offers.”
